Have you heard?  Hanover Foods bought Sunsprout of Lancaster County in 2003 and it’s been a great addition to our food family.  This 7 million dollar operation has spring boarded us into the produce industry.  The plant actually grows bean sprouts such as broccoli sprouts and alfalfa sprouts for use in salads, sandwiches and most commonly, wraps.  They are a healthy alternative to lettuce.  Also Sunsprout packages and distributes fresh snipped green beans under the Hanover label, specialty petite fresh vegetables, sugar snap and snow peas.  It also distributes Mung Chinese bean sprouts, sun dried tomatoes, ginger root, shallots, net bagged creamer style potatoes, tofu and many other unique fresh products sold primarily in the produce section of the grocery store or through produce distributors to restaurants.
